“Education either functions as an instrument which is used to facilitate the integration of the younger generation into the logic of the present system and bring about conformity or it becomes the practice of freedom, the means by which men and women deal critically and creatively with reality and discover how to participate in the transformation of their world.”

My Mission

Grounded in my commitment to peace, unity and justice, my mission is to address the root causes of educational inequities by developing multiracial youth leaders and engaging community allies to promote positive change.
Education is a basic human right, not a privilege.
My vision is to reclaim public education. I seek to create public educational systems that are just, community based, supportive and people centric.

My Vission

I aim to empower, mobilize, and build self-determination among students and their communities.
I envision students who think critically, are social change agents, and who challenge internalized, interpersonal, and institutional oppression in their institutes and communities. Specifically, I envision public institutes as spaces where youth, their families, and community members are key decision makers in their educational experience.
I envision an educational system that is both the centre of the community and a tool for creating community.
When local educational institutions are designed to meet the needs of students, a strong community is created.
